The recent spat between UMNO-sponsored protestors with the Palestinian ambassador to Malaysia Abdel Aziz Abu Ghoush, who were ticked off when some protestors were seen holding photos of Hamas leaders underlies one common observation amongst the muslims umnah mentality which is sadly erred. We don't really grasp the real issue underlying the Palestinian plight. We just hate the Jews.It is no doubt that Israel's retaliation is brutal and disporportionate. However, is anyone surprised? Have we not learn that if you launch rockets into their land, this is what they will do?
Most muslims in Malaysia are obviously offended by Israel's action. But have they stopped to ask why PLO and Fatah seem to be quite silent on this event?
Why the Arab nations, the defenders of the faith not done much?
Most importantly, why does Iran keeps sponsoring useless and noisy rockets for Hamas to launch? They have much more sophisticated arsenal, as displayed in their recent military parade.
Has anyone asked what is the primary military objective of Hamas when they started launching rockets immediately after the 6-months truce?
Be angry if you want. Burn flags and effigies if it makes you feel assuaged. But, do ask these questions before you jump in to same-old bandwagon of the Palestinian plight.
In short, it appears that the Palestinian plight is a singular callus belli for Islamic terrorism. Thus, solving this problem permanently will alter so many interests that no one really seems to care for the Palestinians.
If Palestinians continue to teach their children to hate Israel and all Jews, they could only doom themselves further.
Forget 1948. Forget 1967. Forget 2006. Live in the 2009.
Israel is a military might in the Middle East. Do not pick a fight in which you cannot win. Focus on developing the Palestinian economy. If Dubai is rich enough to build palm-tree shaped reclaimed sea-land, some of the monies can go a long way to develop Gaza's infrastructure.
Focus on the economy. Come back in 50 years' time and fight again :)
The solution is simple, yet painful.

I agree. The scene where the Palestine ambassador told protesters in KL to put away portraits of Hamas leaders clearly shows the people here are merely jumping onto the bandwagon. They are clueless as to the real situation and are protesting just because it's Israel vs Palestine.They have no idea on the difference of Fatah and Hamas, the PA and Hamas, and the fact that Palestinians themselves are fighting militant wars among themselves.
Where were these protesters when Hamas attacked and killed Fatah members in Gaza during the Battle of Gaza 2007? Where were these people when Hamas refused 6,000 Palestinian refugees to return to Gaza after that battle? Where were the protests when Hamas threatened to blow up border crossings even though they knew their own people were returning to Gaza? Where were they everytime Hamas fires rockets into Israeli territories?
Though I disagree with Israel's use of excessive force in solving the problem, the people who carry banners and burn effigies here must also first understand the history and foremost, the reason why Israel is reacting in this way. It is completely because Hamas decided to be smart with their rockets once the peace treaty expired a few weeks ago. As a result, innocent civilians of both sides are caught in between.
Israel have repeatedly said they are targeting Hamas and not the Palestinian people. This I would have to agree. If Israel wants to wipe Palestine off the face of the earth, they can do so in one week. Why bother attacking a small city like Gaza while ignoring the West Bank?
It irks me everytime when I see protesters here take on the streets and shouting eternal condemnation to Israel. But in truth, they are hypocrites and are clueless about what is really happening. To them, Israel is targeted simply because it is Israel.
If they are protesting on humanitarian grounds and against violence, then in all honesty, they should also protest against Hamas who provoked this latest Israeli aggression too, ain't it so?
The protest against Israel clearly shows the stupidity of those Malaysians. Their clueless support is met with an eye opening scolding from the Palestine Ambassador. This scene is really a reflection of UMNO and BN members. The whole herd fully gear with placards appears to be lead by a clueless Oxford grad bull, stampeding to support the Palestine cause but what a shame. A good lecture was in store for them.
Comeon bros think!! Just think (Yeah, its a living proof, some Oxford grads are plain stupid) If you don't want war please don't fire rockets into their compound. We should be telling Hamas OFF. Those Hamas idiots should be held responsible for their action. They should be taught the meaning of ceasefire. Now so many innocent palestine are either dead or suffering. And those Hamas are taunting the Israelis for a fight. Hey Assholes wake up. You are literally picking a fight with Mike Tyson. And Hamas is using the helpless Palestine folks to fight Tyson. If Oxford grad can't tell you how many of them are to wake up from the punches don't ever follow him.
