As soon as the jihadists occupied Somalia, they implemented hudud laws the soonest. As pious muslims, they have done what they considered as wajib.Three months ago, they have already stoned a 13 year-old schoolgirl to death under charges of adultery. She was gang-raped by three men and when she reported the crime, she was subsequently arrested and charged for committing illicit sex - which is forbidden under Islam. Failure to produce 4 pious muslim males as witnesses, she was then to be summarily executed by stoning.
Since the punishment for rape as well as the jurisdiction for it were not clearly mentioned in the Quran, the application in many countries seems to be placed under the same as illicit sex.
Recently, the law of apostasy has been applied. Abdirahman Ahmed was shot dead last Thursday. He was accused of spying for Ethiopian forces, which is non-muslims.
The Free People humbly decline the implementation of hudud laws because these laws can be abused by men for political expidiency.
Hudud laws transfer unquestioned and unchalleged powers to religious militants.
It is not that we do not understand Islam and hudud laws. It is because we really understand Islam and hudud laws.
Learn from the recent KT by-election. The muslim women and the Chinese voters have shied away.

Any law in this world can be misused by incompetence or evil minded enforcers. Don't blame the Hudud & Qisas just that someone has practiced it for the justice which on your perception is wrong. We need to understand what is the root cause the justice was not seen to be done to the person before blindly blame to Hudud. I can also blamed to secular law for not doing so many justice to ordinary people. Are we criticizing these laws? What a double standard talk.
First, majority of Chinese are not given a fair and right information about Hudud & Qisas.
Second, which group of Muslim women that reject the Hudud & Qisas law? Those who are completely following Islam teaching or those who are not following complete Islam teaching (e.g: those who don't bother her head is covered with scarf, free to going out with guys without shame or fear of possibility to involve in illicit sex).
Pull your facts and statistic accurately. Don't just make assumption because there will be always an ass between you and others for making the assumption. Prove it!

Reading your post I conclude that you do not. And a mere statement claiming that you do does not make it so.
Take Somalia: I'd hazard a guess that no matter what laws they apply there, it will always be a mess. The issue in Somalia is not what type of law is being applied; the issue is who are the people applying the law. Muslims? Islam does not stone a 13-year old child because she was rape!
Read the history of Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h) on how he handled a women who confess to him that she had committed adultery. You'd learn a lot more there than my merely following other people's blogs and taking what's written as gospel truth.
Take Malaysia as another instance. We follow the English (read Judeo-Christian) Common Law. Yet we have I.S.A. being applied and abused. Who should we blame? The law? Or those (mis)applying the law?
I.S.A may have played its role to fight the Communist Insurgency back then. But to apply it in this days and period on the pretext of National Security?
And here's the neat trick: that very same I.S.A could, with some change in its wording, be used by a Communist government to 'protect the State against Anti-Communist Insurgencies'.
I put it you then (as they say in court), you have none but little idea of Islam and Hudud is about.
Common Law is not Judeo-Christian Law. There is no such thing as Judeo-Christian Law (as a divine code regulating all aspects of life) only Mosaic Law as contained Old Testament (which is the Bible of the Jews). Common Law is based on Natural Law which is common to all mankind. The 10 Commandments are a summary of Natural Law. So then the Mosaic Law is BROADER than the 10 Commandments. But Christians unlike Jews are not bound to the Mosaic Law as a WHOLE, only Natural Law as ARE all mankind.
Hence, the ISA has no support OR condemnation in the Bible. The government of the day is a divinely ordained institution to uphold the Law (in its 1st use). How they apply the Law is up to them, within the political system. But if it leads to injustice, then only it is wrong.
