Times have changed.It has been since time immemorial that BN wins by-election. The lack of support from day one at the nomination booth coupled with the absence of the Gerak Gempur Sodomi (GGS) team in KT spells doom for BN in the coming by-election.
The apparent humility that Najib is currently displaying reveals a defeatist's strategy of hedging against the inevitable defeat.
The fact that BN is defending a seat and not trying to seize it reveals signs that they may not have, in substance, "won". The postal votes exceeded the thin margin in the last election.
Signs that BN and Najib have already lost the KT by-election:
#1 The absence of their sodomites
The glaring display of Anwar's alledged sodomy charge has backfired so badly that the issue might very well be scrapped from the courts as well.
#2 The absence of the grassroot support in KT
The empty field within the BN compound during nomination day is a significant marker in Malaysia's elections.
#3 The absence of talk-cock
The usual BN's irrational exuberance has dissapeared. One can still recall how they even predicted a victory at Permatang Pauh. Obvious against reality, their speeches were still one of bravado.
#4 The bringing up of hudud laws
Though it is a thorn within the body of Pakatan, the introduction of hudud laws as the obvious bogeyman reveals a very desperate attempt bankrupt of innovative ideas.
The tagline "A vote for DAP is a vote for PAS" was very much ignored while "A vote for MCA is a vote for UMNO" was so effective, the rakyat voted based on their hearts.
These are telling signs of the fall of a once powerful empire. As usual, corruption is the root. Arrogance is the manifestation.

Let's pray that these signs of Najib losing KT will materialize. Let's hope UMNO loses not only this KT by-election, but also other by-elections down the road, whether they involve UMNO or its BN components. The people are fed up because UMNO never learns despite being taught a good lesson by the political tsunami on 8 Mar. Next by-election likely to be in Pensiangan and let Keadilan bury PBRS because Kadazans are fed up of UMNO. Let UMNO/BN Mps/Aduns die like flies one by one or resign out of scandals and let them lose to the PR in the by-elections ensued.
